Udhampur, July 17
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) on Friday chaired a fortnightly review meeting to assess the security arrangements and operational preparedness for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY).
The meeting was attended by SSP Udhampur Amritpal Singh (IPS), Additional SP Udhampur, DySP Headquarters, DySP DAR, DySP PC, SDPO Chenani, all Zonal Officers, and supervisory officers and Company Commanders of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) deployed for Yatra security.
Focus on Safe and Secure Yatra
During the meeting, the DIG reviewed security measures along the Yatra route, convoy management, area domination plans, coordination among security agencies, and the overall operational readiness to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims.
The officers also discussed the effectiveness of existing deployment strategies and preparedness to respond swiftly to any security-related situation during the pilgrimage.
Emphasis on Vigilance and Coordination
DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma sought direct feedback from officers deployed on Yatra duty regarding operational challenges and logistical requirements in the field. He instructed all officers to maintain a high level of vigilance, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and ensure quick response mechanisms to safeguard the pilgrimage.
He stressed that continuous alertness, effective communication, and strict adherence to security protocols remain essential for ensuring the smooth and secure passage of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra convoys through the Udhampur-Reasi Range.
The meeting concluded with directions to all officers to remain fully prepared and continue working in close coordination to provide a safe, peaceful, and hassle-free pilgrimage experience for devotees.
