Srinagar, July 14: The ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 has achieved a significant milestone, with more than 3.01 lakh pilgrims offering prayers at the revered Holy Cave Shrine since the annual pilgrimage began on July 3.
The impressive turnout reflects the unwavering faith of devotees from across the country and highlights the extensive efforts made by the administration and various agencies to ensure the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Pilgrims continue to undertake the sacred journey through both the traditional Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district. Despite occasional rainfall and difficult weather conditions in the Himalayan region, the yatra has been progressing in an organised and uninterrupted manner.
A comprehensive security arrangement has been deployed along both routes. Personnel from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Indian Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SDRF, NDRF, and other security agencies are working together to provide a safe environment for pilgrims. Modern surveillance measures, including CCTV monitoring, drone surveillance, RFID tracking, and continuous route sanitisation, have further strengthened security.
To enhance the comfort and safety of devotees, authorities have established medical camps, oxygen facilities, ambulance services, sanitation units, accommodation centres, community kitchens (langars), and efficient traffic management systems at base camps and key locations along the pilgrimage routes.
Officials have credited the successful progress of the yatra to the coordinated efforts of the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), Jammu and Kashmir Administration, security forces, civil departments, volunteers, and local residents, whose collective support has ensured a smooth pilgrimage experience.
Pilgrims have been advised to remain updated with official weather advisories, carry valid RFID cards throughout the journey, and cooperate with security personnel to ensure the safe completion of the pilgrimage.
The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 is scheduled to conclude on August 28, coinciding with the festival of Raksha Bandhan.
