{"id":1347,"date":"2026-07-20T17:34:00","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T17:34:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/khabarbazjk.in\/?p=1347"},"modified":"2026-07-20T17:34:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-20T17:34:00","slug":"dig-udhampur-reasi-reviews-monsoon-preparedness-orders-round-the-clock-emergency-response","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/khabarbazjk.in\/?p=1347","title":{"rendered":"DIG Udhampur\u2013Reasi Reviews Monsoon Preparedness, Orders Round-the-Clock Emergency Response"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Udhampur, July 20: With adverse weather conditions affecting several parts of the Jammu region, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Udhampur\u2013Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, convened a high-level review meeting through video conferencing on Monday to evaluate the preparedness of police and allied agencies for handling weather-related emergencies in Udhampur and Reasi districts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The meeting brought together senior officers from the Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Civil Administration, NDRF, SDRF, PWD, PMGSY, NHAI, Traffic Police and other key departments involved in disaster management and emergency response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Reviewing the prevailing weather situation, the DIG emphasised the need for a proactive, coordinated and swift response mechanism to deal with any emergency arising from heavy rainfall, landslides, flash floods or road blockages. He directed all departments to remain on high alert and ensure seamless coordination for safeguarding public life and maintaining essential services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The DIG instructed all police units to maintain 24\u00d77 operational readiness, keep district and police control rooms fully functional, and ensure uninterrupted communication across all formations. Quick Response Teams (QRTs), rescue personnel and disaster response equipment have been directed to remain on immediate standby for rapid deployment whenever required.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Special emphasis was laid on strengthening surveillance and patrolling in landslide-prone, flood-prone and other vulnerable areas. Police personnel have also been instructed to remain deployed at critical road stretches, bridges, nallahs and sensitive locations to facilitate public safety and regulate traffic during emergencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To minimise disruption, officers were asked to work in close coordination with the Civil Administration, SDRF, NDRF, Health Department, Fire &amp; Emergency Services, NHAI, PWD and PMGSY for prompt clearance of debris, restoration of damaged roads and uninterrupted connectivity. The DIG also directed that heavy machinery, including excavators and JCBs, should remain strategically positioned at identified vulnerable points for immediate response.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Recognising the importance of timely public information, the DIG instructed officials to issue regular weather advisories, traffic updates and safety alerts through social media platforms, local media outlets and public announcement systems to keep citizens informed and prevent avoidable risks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Reiterating that the protection of human life remains the highest priority, the DIG directed all officers to act with utmost professionalism, ensure prompt rescue and relief operations whenever required, and maintain complete coordination among all stakeholder agencies.
